Mais ou menos assim traduzindo meia boca podemos dizer que o jogo irá incorporar um recurso pouco usado no FIFA 2004 devido ao tamanho do campo (Off the Ball), no caso do NHL sera o OPEN ICE, onde vc poderá por alguns momentos deixar o micro armando a jogada e se posicionar para receber um passe, dar um hit ou pegar um puck em deflection para o gol.
FINALMENTE irão inserir a Copa do Mundo do Hockey que este ano foi realizada na Rep Tcheca, onde vc pode escolher entre as melhores seleçoes de hockey do mundo, a russia de Fedorov, Yashin, a suécia de Forsberg, Sundin, Naslung, ou o canadá de Brodeur, Sakic, Yzerman.
O sistema de patinação tmb será refeito para melhorar (ainda mais) a movimentação dos jogadores, e trazer de volta alguns comandos muito úteis que foram retirados como por exemplo a patinação de costas, muito util para dar hits em contra-ataques.
Pelo visto o jogo será muito bom, como sempre foi .... agora é só aguardar até o mês de julho/agosto que é quando a temporada e os playoffs se encerram e ai temos as férias dos jogadores para o início da nova temporada.
