Possibly Janet Frame is the most important New Zealand author, considered as a writer of great genius.
She was born in Dunedin, on 28th August, 1924 and died on 29th January, 2004.
She wrote eleven novels, four collections of short stories, a book of poetry, a children's book, and three volumes of autobiography.
